SuperMicro's new dual platform motherboard has been released !
I could do review about SuperMicro's new dual platform motherboard.

Our comments might not be able to test about all of results as preview and aren't enough time to mention.
also the mother board is mass production-sample.
Then this report may be different from the mother board that you get from proper channels.

Nowadays Xeon's system are becoming popular system as becoming cost down.
also these product has no problem. I feel so.
then we can use Xeon's system with peace of mind.

By the way.
usually Xeon's motherboard has RIMM system.
But SuperMicro P4DP6 motherboard has DDR SDRAM system.

DDR SDRAM gives full play to DDR's ability with AMD platform.
So We want to know about Xeon's system's performance.

The seal of 'made in USA' has been pasted.

Installing hard ware.

２−１、 Memory
P4DP6 has Eight 184-pin DDR DIMM sockets supporting up to 16GB of registered ECC PC1600 DDR SDRAM.
also requires memory modules to be installed two at a time.
PC2100 is supported but only at 200MHz.
Don't mix memory sizes and speeds.

Expansion Slots
Two 64-bit, 133 MHz PCI-X
One 64-bit, 100 MHz PCI-X
Three 64-bit, 66 MHz PCI-X

There is no AGP Slot, then we have to think about that is using for the server.

Other
AIC-7899 for dual channel Ultra160 SCSI、Intel 82550 10/100 fast Ethernet controller( Two Ethernet ports) etc

the heat sinks are special heat sink for this motherboard
These can use 'OJI Special Heat sink FAN　Adapter' (^^;

We could install WindowsXP without big trouble.
But one of system device drivers were not installed..

P4DP6 has no 33MHz PCI slots
We tried to use 33MHz PCI card into this motherboard's PCI slots.
Using IODATA SC-UPCI SCSI card

The results was no problem.
